Fazia tempo que esse rapaz não dava as caras aqui. Mas como todo grande artista, sua música nunca deixa de tocar no meu player. Hoje, decidi falar dessa canção do Eagle-Eye Cherry que foi uma das músicas que sempre me foi querida desde quando o conheci, anos atrás. Ela possui um poder místico, mas que nada tem a ver como a data cabalística de hoje que todos estão comentando. O poder dela é outro. Faz parte do excelente disco "Living in the Present Future", de 2001. Segue a letra:

Há algo que você gosta muito de fazer? Algo que realmente ama fazer? Algo que você se entrega de coração e, enquanto faz, parece que tudo ao seu redor não têm mais importância? Por exemplo tocar violão, pintar quadros, ouvir música deitado no sofá. Há quem aprecie cozinhar com esse afinco, ou quem sabe escrever crônicas. Não importa qual seja a ação que apreciemos, o fato é que nesse exclusivo momento, involuntariamente, atingimos o nível máximo de percepção e felicidade. No meu caso, um desses momentos vem com o Boxe. Pratico essa arte há 3 anos. Nesse período já mudei de emprego três vezes, mas não de esporte. Para chegar no local dos treinos, duas vezes por semana preciso descer uma rua bem movimentada. Acompanhado dos meus fones de ouvido, costumo descer essa rua apreciando suas lojas, pessoas e movimentos. Todos únicos e perfeitos. Essa pequena caminhada sempre me trás boas vibrações. E um dos que me acompanhou em várias dessas ocasiões foi o Eagle-Eye Cherry. Ouvindo recentemente esse som, percebo o quanto ele está em sintonia com aquilo que gosto de fazer. Ouvir Shades of Grey descendo a rua em direção ao boxe é, para mim, experimentar uma sensação do ótimo. Difícil traduzir em palavras, mas o refrão de Cherry pode ajudar. "O sol é branco e a lua é cinza. O rio é negro, azul e verde. O jovem é jovem e o velho é velho e não há tons de cinza entre eles", ele diz num balanço muito alegre, com sua voz suave e descolada a palmas entre os versos. É daqueles refrãos que você ouve e se sente com super-poderes. Te faz sorrir e ver a vida com outros olhos. O balanço todo é igualmente positivo, desde o violão inicial até as batidas que acompanham Cherry nos versos rápidos. Em termos de energia, lembra muito outra canção do mesmo disco dele, Burning Up, porém com uma poesia mais subjetiva e feliz. São músicas alegres, capazes de te aproximar ainda mais daquilo que você adora fazer. Experimente. Se seu hobbie é desenhar, pescar, costurar, montar aviões, tirar fotos em preto e branco ou qualquer outra coisa feita com o coração, faça isso ao som de Shades of Grey. Você vai ver como ambas experiências se fundem numa alegria ainda mais vibrante ;)
